That was a near-miss.

In reality, they wouldn't have "lost you" , you would've received an emergency airway...a trach.
Many folks stay in the hospital a lot longer after such an event. You are very fortunate.

Stay pumped up for the MMA. It is a good operation. It will stay away from many airway compromising structures that may have caused problems this time around.

Stay cool. Things will be better next time.
