99% of the work is done inside the mouth at the deepest parts of the sulcus below the gums. In some, a stab (less than 3-4mm) is done for placement of a screw on each side of the posterior jawline. This goes away and fades faster than a shaving cut.

Generally, there are no facial scars. However, facial appearance can be altered (and usually is to one degree or another).
