I am in a quandary about mma surgery. So many people are reporting less than complete results, better but not as good as I would want. I have the dreaded trach and only have 3 events per hour, so viturally no apnea. I have a great pendant and no one knows I have a trach. However, I do have air hunger and cannot project my voice very far and this limits my teaching career. It also rules out low cut blouses (I am female).
The point is that I am afraid to have a surgery that can cause Tmj pain, possibly ruin my nose and requiring additional cash and all the time and expense of everything in general, and the headache of fighting insurance. But, I would really like the dream to come true too. I have appointment with Dr. P in July. Do I go? Also, appointment the next day with the best trach dr. just down the street from Dr. P.
My husband will do whatever I want to do. He thinks I am great the way I am. But, I think he would like my health to be better too.
