TMJ pain - haven't heard of it relating to MMA as long as I've been here.

Ruining the nose - again, I don't recall hearing this. One poster, summer, had a prominent jaw to start with and found her features changed drastically enough that she had corrective plastic surgery. She takes great pains to emphasize that she is happy with the outcome. The vast majority are happy with the facial changes.

My nose got a little flatter/wider, but it is not worse, just different. My nose before surgery was much more prominent - in a bad way. Now the elements of my face all integrate in a more balanced fashion.

Go to your appointment with Dr P. Tell him your concerns about trading a known good situation for an unknown. I'm sure he'll be very honest in his recommendations. Unless he thinks MMA has a high chance of success *in your specific case* he probably will not recommend.
