I had somno done to my upper palate in january and am supposed to have it done to my tongue and nasal turbinates on Sept 18th (HMO Permitting. The only minor side effect was a little bit of floppy uvula problem. I haven't noticed any of the other problems you mentioned. The whole thing was pretty much painless for me. My doc used prednizone to keep the swelling down and that did the trick!! Feel free to ask any questions!!
