I actually had the exact same procedure you are having just 6 weeks ago. Tonsils and adenoids were removed, as well as the UPPP and work done to my nose. I may have actually been lucky, but I found it to be surprisingly tolerable to recover from. Of course there was some pain, but rarely so bad that I needed the Percocet--I usually just used Tylenol (VERY IMPORTANT: You cannot have anything except Tylenol for a pain killer before surgery because Advil and Aspirin both thin your blood--if you take those even just within two weeks of your surgery it could be CANCELLED because you will bleed a fair amount during the procedure--your doctor should tell you this.) Anyway, swallowing was managable but sometimes uncomfortable. I was ready to go back to work one week after the procedure and even days before then I wasn't doing too badly.

The biggest surprise for me was what they did to my nose. The doctor opened the airways there better and because of it, my nose got very clogged up afterwards and bled considerably each day for over 2 weeks. Literally I had gauze over my nose for 4 days to stop the bleeding after the surgery and that's considered normal. My advice is to ask the doctor what to expect before going into the surgery. The nose issues were the one thing I wasn't expecting. Also swallowing will feel differently for quite a while.

My only problem is that my surgery has healed completely, but unfortunately I still don't feel any better. I don't know what my next option will be but I am concerned because there are days when sleep apnea completely takes over my life even now...
