Hi folks. It's been a while since I've posted, and it's been five months since tonsillectomy and seven months since septoplasty. And How am I doing today?

Well, my tastebuds are working again, and I've gained half of the weight I lost during recovering from the tonsillectomy. I didn't lose any weight with the septoplasty but I sure lost ten pounds with the tonsillectomy. Unfortunately, I gained five back. Other than changes in weight, my sleep pattern is still disrupted. I go to bed around 2 AM and get up at 9 AM. But I guess I just have to face the music that I'm a late night owl. Before I used to think it was my Apnea keeping me up... well actually... if I'm uncomfortable then I'm going to not sleep well, and if I know in advance that I won't be sleeping well, why bother going to sleep?

Recently I have been going in and out of the ENTs office, doing a battery of allergy tests. As it so happens, I am allergic to mold, dust, feathers and cats. I am 35 and found this out just yesterday! For years I have slept on FEATHER PILLOWS and used a FEATHER comforter which only aggravated my sinuses. Coupled with the feathers is that since I live in a city where the pollution is great, I am bombarded by molds and dusts all the time. So there is no rest for my immune system. As a result, I get fatigued so that I can sleep and let my immune system fight off the allergens. When it can't win, infections are born and the next thing I know is that there is bacteria growing in my sinuses. The bacteria turns into post nasal drip and cultivates the tonsils with germs, etc. In the long run, because I am so tired from fighting off illnesses, my learning abilities are challenged and voila, I'm diagnosed with learning disabilities.

OK.... so I have a new theory...

For people with Learning Disabilities, Fatigue related illnesses, Apnea and chronic, recurrent respiratory problems...

spend 200 bucks and take the skin prick allergy test to see if you are reacting to allergies

sorry that my writing is so disjointed today. I have been injected with mold spores and am presently reacting badly to allergic rhinitis

should be better in a few days once the antihistamines kick in.

best, louise
