Hi everyone!

I wanted to let you all know that I had a follow up sleep study on August 5 and although I have not recieved the official results from the doctor, it seems that the UPPP worked.

I had the UPPP, toncilectomy, septoplasty, turbinectomy & rinoplasty on May 22.

In the follow up sleep study my oxegen level stayed 97% and above with of course no snoring and the nurse told me I reached stages 3 & 4 which I did not reach in my original sleep study 4 years ago. My oxegen level was also between 68% and 78% throughout that study! I also snored continuously in that study with 125 arousals and 52 episodes of stoped breathing. (many of those were for a minute or longer) I must say that I guess for me I had a definate blocked airway! Both my nose and throat were blocked so the surgeries seemed to have worked for me for now! I was not overweight to begin with and I am 31 years old now so you all can imagine that I feel great about the decision to have the proceedures done.

Good luck to all of you who are thinking about the surgery and to all of you who have just had it. I wanted to share a success story since most of all we see these days are unfortunately not.

Bye the way....It did take me several weeks to begin to feel as though I had energy or to really feel any significant results!

Also a special thank you to everyone who helped me make this decision and for sharing so many of your stories with me and for the contiuned support of this forum!

Michele
