Thanks to everyone who responded to my posting several weeks ago. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago yesterday and things are going very well. The doctor says things went perfectly that when they pulled my tongue forward it was like it popped into place. Days 5-6 post op were the worst. Throat pain and just overall worn out feeling. By day 8 I washed 2 cars and did some light things around the house. By day 11 I was cutting the yard and working outside. I still tire out a little easier than normal I think, but overall things feel very normal. I think I am sleeping better. My wife says I am not snoring, but I am gurgling a little bit. I know I still have swelling, so hopefully that will go away soon too. I will have a sleep study in 6-8 weeks. At this point my jaw and lower front teeth still feel very strange with some pain and some numbness both, but nothing major. The doctor says it will be like this for several months. I had pretty much psyched myself out about the pain and recovery and it was nothing compared to what I had planned.
