Posted by Jeremy on December 08, 2006 at 11:49:22:These are the codes which my team has submitted to my insurance company for my particular case. Perhaps those of you with an insurance fight on your hands may be able to use these also (where applicable!). I also looked them up on the web to get the definitions. Searching for the definition text (cut/paste into your search engine) will get you to the same site with many more codes if these are not the specific ones for you. Good luck with insurance battles, my company balked at first but the peer-to-peer review had them in agreement that it was "medically necessary for treatment of sleep apnea" (company name begins and ends with an "A"). Mine may be the shortest insurance fight on this forum (knock on wood)!
My codes were:
Code 21121 : Genioplasty; sliding osteotomy, single piece.
Code 21141 : Reconstruction midface, Lefort I: single piece, segment movement in any direction (e.g., for long face syndrome), without bone graft.
Code 21196 : Reconstruction of mandibular rami and/or body, sagittal split; without internal rigid fixation.
Remember, your codes may vary. This is just intended as a helpful guide.
