MMA surgery what are the Risks

Posted by cpapdoesnothelp on December 15, 2006 at 20:33:21:

generally speeking wat would the risk of MMA surgery be. I guess my risk would be higher becaus had lower jaw surgery advancement over 20 years ago for TMJ pain which would make my surgery more complicated.I have talked to a lot of MMA surgeons just talk to you a little. Some seem like they just want the money. Two doctors say they do not want to do me because 1 the previous surgery and 2 the fact that the thought my facial features were real good now. Others say they do not care about the pervious surgery and have done a lot of redos.

Besides the physical risks what are the cosmetic risk. Been told they can't tell. My jaws look good now. heard that the soft tissue moves about 1/2 the amount of the jaw movement. Two top docs said the upper jaw is what people complain about not the lower jaw. however my upper lip is pretty full although my lower jaw probably could use a little movement. does anybody know? the pictues of people look good. I might have an ape type look. others say i would okay.
