I am not sure how you intentially find one. I lucked out. In the intermountain area (Utah), at the time I had mine done, there were very few who had performed them as "it relates to the medical management of the underlying causes of OSA". The doctor that I found happened to have studied at Stanford with the gurus of MMA. He ia also a facial reconstructive surgeon (plastic surgeon) with dual certification in dentistry. His assistant was on fellowship with him, also trained at Stanford and had taken part or personally performed several hundred procedures. They both said there were little tricks to prevent the caveman jaw protrusion. However they did not elaborate. I read about MMA being performed on people in the orient or of oriental ancestory in which the jaw is sectioned when moved forward in order to eliminate the protruding jaw. It takes a lot of research on your part. For mine, I talked with over two dozen surgeons before I found one with the back gound that fit my needs.
