Well,
Maybe its the end of the day, but this poster deserves a little gentle chiding. Remember, this is the "Non-Cpap" forum, not the "Anti" Cpap Forum.

Fact is, Cpap works for most people. Look how many posters are in the Cpap forum. And if I could have tolerated Cpap, I would never have had my surgery. It works for a lot of people. I am writing this comment more for people who will see your screen name and not give Cpap a fair try.

Moving along. Cpap can kill you...if you try to use it in the bath tub...or someone drops it off the fifth floor of a building on your head.

Generally, Cpap machines can dry out your throat and sinus passages if you are a mouth breather. I suppose there can be skin irritation issues if you have sensitive skin. BUT if cpap takes care of your apnea, those benefits FAR FAR FAR outway any negatives...like showing it to your new girlfriend, or lugging it on trips.

Unless you have the more uncommon Central Apnea, if you can keep it on all night, it operates as a hundred percent cure.

Every sleep doctor will have you try the Cpap machine first. Some people LOVE their machines. Check the Cpap forum...Come to think if it, that is a good place to ask this question.

Though your handle may inspire some hostility.

Mike
