Extended Uvulopalatal Flap Surgery

Posted by teddybear on January 03, 2007 at 14:20:20:

Has anyone tried this? A few years ago this was in the news a lot, studies were done, but I don't see much about it lately. Was it not found out to be helpful or are American doctors just not doing it?

I was recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, but couldn't tolerate any of the cpap masks they tried me on. My pulmonologist said that cpap was my only option, refused to discuss anything else. I've been doing research and this procedure sounds interesting. Was just curious if anyone on here had tried it or knew someone who had. Thaks.
