Hi Chris...
I'm not certain about the data for the flap or pharyngealplasty...but the data in general for relapse after UPPP is awful.
Tonsils should be removed...no question... But, they won't cure you.
The UPPP most probably won't cure you...though if you look at it as a precursor in a staged process...it may contribute to a cure.
In most people, the uvula is NOT the over-riding issue...it is just visable...and, lol...and an easy target. The tongue base is the most common problem in most of us. And, the UPPP or flap does nothing to address that location.
I've had insurance success...if you call it that (after 11 months of appeals and fighting) with KL
and BC/BS. I think you'd have similar discussions no matter which surgeon you picked.Finally...lol...The CPAP masks...yes...I've heard that they can be quite the aphrodesiac... For a longterm partner...anything helps after a night of sleep on their part. And, for you guys/gals out there dating ...you can always leave for home early after a fun date (and never expose them to the sleep technology). The inverse of the old "coyote" date !
