While it seems logical that a single jaw procedure could work, I wonder about it's effectiveness in practice.
Has your surgeon done jaw advancement specifically for the treatment of OSA? This is important, as the procedures are the same, but the goals are different.
Coming from a cosmetic angle, the end goal is to retain best appearance and function. Coming from an OSA angle, the end goal is the largest airspace possible, *even if that conflicts with the best cosmetic outcome.*
My OS coordinated carefully with my orthodontist. They created a very misaligned bite that allowed for the maximum advancement, and then became perfect after surgery.
If your OS
*has done one jaw for OSA successfully
*thinks that one jaw can create the needed airwaythen fine. Otherwise, I would question this approach and get more information, possibly a second opinion.
All I'm going on here is the fact that in the last three years, I've seen many posts about MMA+GA but none that I can remember about MA+GA.
