Speech wonderings/worries

Posted by apneamom on August 03, 2007 at 16:44:46:

Hi all,

I am so glad to hear all of the recent success stories and amazing recoveries that have been posted lately. They keep me coming back to this site and give me great hope as I approach my MMA surgery (to be scheduled the end of October).

The recent concerns about speech discrepancies brings back one of my concerns about speech. Has anyone had a change in their actual voice? Any change in vocal control (singing voices in particular)? I am a singer in a praise band and just wonder if this is going to affect me. Possible vocal changes won't change my mind about having the surgery, I am just wondering.

Keep posting those wonderful updates! It brings great hope and comfort to those of us "waiting in the wings"!

Anne
