Mike,
Unfortunately I am not in or near CA. I am however, in a large city in the US. This OS is also an MD and deals with facial cosmetic surgery. He has looked me in the eyes, at least three different times, and told me he cannot guarantee this will work. (I think my issue is more of about my snoring than my OSA...I have mild to moderate). And like I mentioned in a previous post, he has said we may need to consider both jaws but said we would discuss it further as we got closer to surgery time. When I first met him I stressed that moving the lower jaw would be fine with me for cosmetic reasons and if it helped my snoring then even better so I get the feeling from him he wanted to approach me about having both done at a later time. A septoplasty and genio has also been suggested. The first consultation on my snoring I visited one ENT who came right out and said I needed lower jaw surgery and a septoplasty. I then went to a doctor who has a clinic just for snoring. After over a year with him and two Snoreplasty's and two Pillar Procedures (yes, that would be 6 pillars in me!) with 0 results, he said there was nothing further he could do and to see someone about my overbite. So, I found my current OS thru my dentist and GP. And that is where I am now. I have another opinion i will schedule this week. I will definitely inquire about what I have learned here as well as discuss with my current OS when I meet with him again this week.
I will definitely do a search on Summer. And thanks for letting me know the cosmetic impact is minimal. I am having trouble finding profile photos to view. Most of the before and afters are front view only...it's the profile I'm concerned with. Sounds like I don't need to be!
