I concur !! LOL...that bizarre nerve thing happened to me too ! Interesting how the sensory nerves rewire themselves !

I took baby steps too...limited by comfort as well.

And, the mouth opening exercises are a surgeon-surgeon mileage may vary deal. Some insist on it, some use it as needed, and some never mention it.

I never underwent any mouth opening exercises, and despite being limited for a longer duration than most people here, I never had any residual limitations. However, I did do some bizarre re-animation exercises (making funny faces in the mirror) to tone my facial and peri-oral muscles.

What most surgeons do is have you stack tongue depressors on each other, gradually adding to the stack every few days.
