I tried an AveoTSD in conjunction with dental device and it was an improvement over using the dental device alone. Think of the AveoTSD as replacing a GA and the dental device replacing an MMA. The dental device pulled my lower jaw forward while the AveoTSD kept the tongue itself forward.

There were a few drawbacks to the AveoTSD:
1. It left my tongue out of place most of the morning and made it too easy to bite my tongue when talking or eating. I was also worried that the long-term effect would stretch my tongue.
2. My tongue was extremely numb near the tip. It made talking difficult.
3. The AveoTSD plus dental device did not help enough.
4. The AveoTSD by itself did not help at all.
