Sorry, I'm going to have to go against the grain here - my specialty :) Michael Moore has a far left political agenda and as part of the hate-America-first crowd, has no credibility with me, and many others who are not very vocal.
How many people from the US hop on a plane to Cuba to gain access to their wonderful health care system? Zero.
I've been self-employed for 25 years and have private health insurance - State Farm. It costs me $800+/month for me, the lovely wife, and 2 kiddos. $2500 deductible per year, per person, per illness. They do exactly what the contract says, nothing more, nothing less. They paid for my MMA because it's covered. They don't pay for a tooth filling because it's not covered.
The real problem is that people don't want to pay the real price for their health care. And because payment is often covered up inside of a benefit plan, people don't see it. And having an insurance middle-man distorts the normal free market forces. Folks will pay $300 for an HDDVD player, but complain when they have a $20 copay on the best health care in the world. I've stood in line behind people throwing a fit because they had to pay $20, then they watched me pay $500 for the same thing.
If you think it will be better to add yet another middle-man, ie the government, between you and your Doctor, you are mistaken.
Health care is not free. If you want to get something you don't pay for, then someone else has to pay for something they don't get.
Not perfect, just the best.
