Yes, I have had these symptoms. What you are going through is 100% exactly what I went through.
At first, my face was badly distorted also. It was badly swollen and looked comical. I also went for two or three days without a bowel movement. It was upsetting and frightening for me. I complained to the nurse about that, and she told me that this was usual for people with MMAs. As another poster said, this is due to the medication. After the constipation comes very watery bowel movements (what else would we expect with a liquid diet). That will likely last until you get your jaws unwired. I suggest you think of ways to get vitamins and minerals especially iron into your body. I wish I had taken supplements.

I think that feeling blue after surgery is very normal too. It will pass. Things are going to get much better for you.

I have one piece of advice for you. Right now, things will not be stable. I am talking about sleep. In the beginning, you will have lots of swelling. In the beginning, you might feel worried about whether this is working or not. Things will start to calm down later on. Just stay calm. Improvement will come in due course.
