Well, I spoke with my current ENT when he called to confirm the referral to the Mayo surgeon. I asked him a few questions and he said the he didn't think anyone performed as many of these types of procedures as Stanford. He said that he has had good personal experience with this doctor with other patients. He said that I should ask Dr. V all the questions I can.

I know that the surgeon I've been referred to is the one who specializes in this type of surgery at Mayo. Mayo does have a pretty sizeable sleep center and most likely sees a lot of people with OSA. I would be making a big jump to a conclusion, however, if I were to suggest that because of those facts, Dr. V is the best cutter for this. I'll be armed with many questions, a lot of which I got from reading things on this board. I'm also assuming that he will suggest surgery. We are nowhere near that point yet. I have yet to get the call to set the appointment. But, because of my nature, I usually run all new info through whatever scenario I can come up with. When I get new info, I'll do the same thing...I just can't help myself.

I do have a question for all of you about doctor names. Is there some reason we don't use the doc's entire name? It seems that with very little effort, we can all figure out what Dr. L and Dr. x stand for. Just curious. Thanks for your responses!
