WOW! What a ride. The # one thing I grossly underestimated was the pain factor. Maybe I'm a softy but it kept getting worse and worse until about day 9 or so, then it peaked. Still having to do Vicodin 3-4 times a day, mostly upper jaw discomfort. The sleep? O-yeah...datz good! Still having to sleep in the recliner because being totally horizontal puts too much pressure on my face. No apnea, no worries. Here's one for ya-I'm waking up w/numbness in my fingers and fingertips...any ideas where that's coming from? Back to the surgeon for post-op #2 on 1-10. I currently have a splint in my upper and a couple of rubberbands going in opposing directions from my upper front teeth to my lower teeth at an angle. During surgery my (6 tooth) bridge was broken on my upper jaw and several brackets from my braces were trashed. My upper was widened to accomodate my new bite (which looks good). Went back to work today (6 hours) and will see where things are @ the end of the week. Had a 13 mm advance on bottom and 4 on top, I would say less than half of people have noticed any difference in my appearance.

The marathon continues but based on all the posts I've read over the last year I've come out essentially unscathed. Thanks for all the support from everybody here.

Mr. Nuf
