30 day update

Posted by HVMMA guy on January 09, 2008 at 21:21:10:

Its been 30 days since I had my MMA and sleep is still great. I sleep with a humidifier to keep my sinuses open. I have a concern my septum was further compromised with the MMA. It feels very concaved, with the bottom of the spoon feeling, in my right nostril. The left nostril is about as tight as b/f but i cant tell if its a bit worse. Anyway, my left nostril gets stuffed up once i lay down w/o the humidifier. After the UPPP the septum was pretty straight. I should get a better idea tomorrow when i meet with my surgeon, for post op #3. i already brought it up to him last week and he will compare to X-rays pre-op.

I slept last night w/o taking Vicodin for the 1st time but i was still uncomfortable. The pressure on the upper jaw is still to much to bare w/out it. It has gotten alot better but still need something stronger than ibuprofen to manage it when i first fall asleep. I will be taking up my surgeon on the pain mgmt specialist to take over tomorrow. My surgeon has done a pretty crappy job of managing the pain and I am not looking fwd to adjustments from my Orthodontist. Other than when i sleep the pain has gotten much better and i am looking forward to the rubber bands coming out.
