My septum was, and required surgery.

Before MMA, my nasal breathing was very good, due to a surgical turbinate reduction. It was such a huge difference that I felt I had to learn how to breathe again - as I had been a mouth breather before.

After MMA, I felt I slipped back towards that former state. My nasal surgeon said my septum was S shaped. I know that it had always had a slight bow, that that became worse after MMA.

Anecdotally, a fair percentage of people report nasal issues after MMA - whether from septum or sinus displacment, who knows - and it doesn't appear THAT rare to need to address it through surgery.
