He looked at my MRI of my TMJ and said I need mitek anchors implanted into my TMJs to stablize my discs. He said that if I do not have this TMJ surgery at the same time of the MMA I would have about a 70% risk of my MMA being redone and/or having to get a total joint replacement. I ask him the risk of just doing the TMJ surgary and he said 30% of MMA being redone and/or total joint replacement. Also he said it the TMJ should not be done after the MMA because it would be too late.
I said why don't other surgeons do this and he said they do not know how. Hay, other surgeons do not as far as I know of do a MRI of the TMJ unless pain or something. I asked two other MMA surgeons and the do not agree with this surgeon.
So I asks the famous one why do the not agree and he said they do not do follow up studies long range. Also he basically said the do not do all the redo surgeries he does so they do not see why MMA fail have TMJ pain and need to be redone.
I find this strange because I have no symptoms like pain, etc. except some light noise in my right TMJ. Also
