He did the x-ray and during our discussion, I asked him on a scale of 1-10 with 10 meaning that I'm a perfect candidate for an MMA, he put me at a 9. Now, I don't know if he would have given me a 3 if he felt it necessary, but at least he had a good explanation for why he felt I was a good fit. I will be going back to Mayo at the end of March to do a sleep study in their lab so he can make sure he's not missing something, but I anticipate scheduling the surgery when I see him the next morning.
I'm curious as to how your swelling, numbness and everything else are going for you. I asked Dr. V about any failed cases and he said that he's only had two that weren't a "success". One person gained a lot of weight after the surgery and undid all the work and he could figure out why the other one didn't work, because it was fairly petite woman that didn't gain any weight. He does sound like he does these procedures for OSA fairly regularly and for people all accross the country. I feel like he cared about my questions because he kept answering my questions even after his pager went off twice. I finally let him go, but he didn't rush out until he made sure I didn't have any other questions. Overall, I was pretty happy with the first meeting.
So, if you have some time, Buggy, please let me know how things are going. Thanks
