Breden, good luck. It only takes about half an hour for everthing. Very short time period for such a huge outlay of cash, but you are paying for the expertise/education and for the best authority. He will "just know" by looking at your x-rays and by examining you.

I am not sure how deep your pockets are (mine ain't too deep), so I will give you this advice: If you want to cut down on cash expenses, you can make good use of public transit. From SF Airport, take the Bart system to Milbrae Station, then transfer onto the CALTRAIN line and take it to Palo Alto. Cost will be under 10 bucks. Also, there are some cheap hotels to be found.
