I've used dental appliances for several years now. I've never had TMJ pain but when I first started my jaw muscles would hurt for a bit in the morning but that hasn't happened for years.

I did manage to chew up my appliances and now have one made from very strong material. It has adjustable stainless steel slides. Last spring I bent one of those and had to replace it.

My appliance dropped my rate from 45 to 15 but I still don't feel rested. Later this month I'm going in for another sleep study and a daytime nap study (narcolepsy).

Lately I've been wondering what the long term impacts might be to my tooth enamel since I grind my teeth.
