I presume you are from the South. If so, I recommend you see Dr. Prinsell in Atlanta. He is a well known expert in MMA surgery who has written many many articles on the topic. His philosophy is to try to avoid risky soft tissue surgeries where possible by doing the MMA first and seeing the result. This sounds like the approach that you wanted to take. By the way, I think that is a wise move, as MMA has good efficacy while the soft tissue ones are much less reliable.
