No surgeon is infallible. And complications can happen with the
best. Growing up, everyone used to tell me what a brilliant
surgeon (oral maxillofacial surgeon) my father was. And he was
one of the best. He and I had a conversation the other day. He
told me that there were some cases that he wouldn't do. And he
would refer them to Dr. LW. And I asked if they went well. And
my father said yes. My feeling from what I have gathered is that
he is that good. And it sounds like he has the guts, ability, and
experience to take on cases other's don't. As for making a
name for himself- he has already done that. As for over-
promising a bit- that may go with the territory of being a
surgeon. :)

These are just my opinions and those of my father and a couple
of other oral surgeons. Perhaps you can ask him for some
names of his most challenging cases and ask them how things
went.
