Senn, well, I sometimes am sure that I cannot endure another MMA. Keep in mind that not only will I need another MMA, but 3 other procedures inside the throat to try to fix my voice. They are:repositioning of the palatine muscles, reconstruct soft palate, fat graft to soft palate. I have nothing to go on info wise here, as I am totally alone with this post MMA ruined voice...but it seems horrific to add to MMA trauma. No-one can seem to give a reason for why my voice got so messed up. I also still have a numb bottom lip/chin area, so I guess those nerves would be a sure goner after more surgery. A trach would make me give up and become a total recluse, not far from that now. If it makes speech any more difficult, which I wont trust any dr to know that, then Im not willing to do it. Dr LW did say that the MMA didnt move my jaws at all and airway is still 4mm. It is possible anesthesia scarred my velopharyngeal valve during the MMA. I did have two newly chipped front top teeth after MMA...surgeon gaffed it off when I asked. Recent nasedoscopy by some Dr's have hinted that they see a little possible scaring on that valve, so my guess is, anesthesia may have hastily re-intubated or something in a scary moment during surgery. Its obvious I wont get a straight answer. My embarassing voice bothers me a bit more than being dead tired, so I hope Dr LW can perform a miralce. I am not going to pay the 80K myself because Im too unlucky...If I pay, and the surgery is not successful, then i wont be able to stand that. If Blucross double cross pays, maybe Ill be ok. I just cant stand the thought of paying my life savings, and the operation not working. I am still fighting blue cross, but will probably be giving up if the last plea is not answered. My family Dr has written their president who he says he knows. But its been awhile, and I cant do anything else. Not being able to easily talk really hurts the pleading process. No telling how many times I have stated my case to multiple representatives, and then the contract year expires with them. Im glad to see these posts re-DrLW, because I hadnt seen him mentioned here at all until MMA re-dos became of topic. That made me nervous, so please guys, post anything you can on him. From what Ive seen, he's the man. For me, who will require MMA and palate experience, Ive no choice.
