I had braces put on for MMA surgery but after reading this i a scared.
on October 25, 2005 at 13:37:09 seattlebill posted a message that said "Steroids would've been another strike against you. They impair wound healing when used chronically (I'm not talking about peri-op steroids ). A person who uses steroids for other conditions presents a higher risk for [MMA} surgery"
The sugeon did not say anything..I wrote the medication I was on.
Doctor have precribed Androgel (Testoterone) or Testoterone in some other form for me for about 15 years now.
Also for 2 years a doctor has precribed me Gentropin (Human Growth Horome. Additionally for 15 years they told me to take DHEA.
Should i be concerned, I have tried the CPAP and oral appliances do not work for me (the oral appliance cause my TMJ to click for about a year after wearing it for about 6 months and it did not help. I have no clicking in my TMJ now.
A doctor who is a certified ENT and sleep doctor said the CPAP would never work for me and wanted to do tongue surgery (NOT radiofrequency) I have had about 8 ent surgerys for sleep apnea already.
I am on the maxiumin dose of two blood pressure pill that the doctor said would not tire me out.
I am on Klonopin for all the anxiety caused by sleep apnea and looking for surgeons loosing my girlfriend and friends and my family because they do not understand my tiredness.
Out side of that I am very healthly (If sleep apnea was not ruining my life because i am so tired)
I am 6o but look like 45 because i extersize all my life so i guess i am healthly. and my heart doctor said my heart is good for the MMA surgery.
I spent 20 days at the Mayo clinic and the could find no cause for my tiredness except sleep apnea.
I guess what i am saying is how much concern should I have for MMA surgery because of the Steroids and other medication above.
