Mazel Tov, Goldfish, on an "exemplary outcome" in terms of your RDI being reduced to 5! As I've already mentioned in my last update, I went down to 13 from somewhere in the 60's; and my surgeon labels my results as "excellent." For him any number in the single digits is the gold standard.

He also said that he could have advanced me more than 12mm (I failed to ask him how much more)but felt that there would be a compromise to the aesthetic outcome. In one of my pre op visits he showed me slides of pre and post MMA full face and profile shots. I gave a running commentary on how I thought these men and women looked. In only one case did I shout out "over my dead body" in response to what I saw. Did you and your surgeon have any discussions on the possible visual outcomes prior to your MMA?

Your spirit seems so positive; and I applaud this post for its rich detail, candor, and helpful information. Having had virtually no pain following my MMA although I did feel as if I had been flattened by a steam roller, I continue to be struck by all the variations on this MMA theme. I do hope you continue to say in touch. Let's here it with a drum roll for an RDI of 5!
