Just a post-script to my last message.

If you write Dr. G., he will likely write you back and tell you that you should see an OMF surgeon in Toronto or Montreal or wherever you are from. That is what he told me. I wrote him back and begged him to see me. I told him that I had already found out by other surgeons that he was the best in the country, and I pleaded with him. The good thing about this guy is that he truly has a heart of gold. I don't say that lightly. You wouldn't believe how kind he is. Every 2 yrs, he goes to 3rd world countries to help kids with cleft palate and give a clinic to surgeons in those countries. When I pleaded with him, he agreed to see me.

Second thing. You read in Roger's blog that strangely his AHI went up after the MMA surgery. You concluded that this was due to MMA. The thing is that don't forget that Roger had more than one surgery at the time. Key point - If you read what he says carefully, you'll see that he says that he suspects that soft tissue surgeries caused him trouble. It takes time for scar tissue to form after soft tissue surgeries. It takes about 8 months. Soft tissue surgeries generate scar tissue which cause the palate to become shorter and thicker over time. That is a whole big debate - pros and cons of Phase 1 surgeries. We have debated about this extensively on this site in past forums. I suggest you acquaint yourself with that info. Read up on what the Stanford docs say, and what Dr. P from Atlanta says. They have different points of view. You can see that the poster named "goldfish" recently got MMA without the Phase 1 with good result. Other actually need Phase 1. The thing is that only a minority of people do need it. They should be screened by a very competent surgeon who really knows about what he is doing.
