My pleasure. Dr. G. told me that he has seen a lot of people to whom soft tissue surgeries did damage to. He has written in one of his papers on it, saying that it makes the palate "shorter and thicker" resulting in less available airspace and more resistance.

It sounds that your case is more complex probably as a result of these soft tissue surgeries. As you may know, I am a victim of LAUP. In fact, I didn't even have sleep apnea before the cursed LAUP which was done to correct primary (social) snoring. I just did it on a whim. Had a few extra dollars and wanted to spend some on myself. Funny thing was that I was thinking about Lasik eye surgery to get rid of my glasses or thought about LAUP to get rid of snoring. I answered an advertisement that said that laser snoring operation had about 90 percent chance of working and was painless and so on. I wanted to travel through the world as a backpacker and stay in youth hostels etc., so I thought I would get that done. What a mistake. It is unbelievable to others. Such a strange story. I actually bought my sleep apnea and paid good money for it. If you know my story, you can understand my prejudices toward soft tissue surgeries and unscrupulous quacks. Once bitten, twice shy.

I know how you feel. I have been there. When I was in Japan, the surgeons there are not familiar with MMA. They told me that it was "preposterous" that I was going to get an MMA. They kept telling me that the reason that I had sleep apnea was that I was a few pounds overweight, and that I should try to lose weight. They never took any x-rays of my airway and just looked at my airway with scopes. They concluded that it was normal and the LAUP hadn't done any damage. Not until I flew to Palo Alto and saw Dr. L. did I know that I had only a 1mm airway due to all that scar tissue. It was so frustrating to deal with disbelievers, especially disbelievers with the initials M.D. after their names.
