Thanks Captin
I had 2 LAUP's and uppp plus lots of nose surgeries for sleep apnea and a radiofrequency of the tongue base.
Now, now here is the 4 important questions please answer them you are so smart and really did your homework.
1)Let me get this straight you used the CPAP...and you were still tired but the numbers looked okay right? But you feel 80 percent better now. Am I clear on that?
2) What presure were you at?
3) did you wear the CPAP every night or almost every night?
4) should i see the famous sleep doctor at stanford also DR G and ask what to do and have another sleep test maybe with UARS if he would give it to me...I have been approved for MMA already with insurance would this blow it because of his opinion or the results of the sleep test...i am in my earily 60s and cant have the MMA to much later because they will not do you. But sleep doctors who are not surgeons tend to think only in CPAP and numbers.
You said your airway was 1 MM after LAUP but mine on the side Xray is like 9mm But this Dr said after scope on me under anesthesia to see how my airway would look as if i am asleep that my problem is a small airway. He is a professor that works for a University and is dual certified as a sleep doctor and ENT doctor who is internationally known...two times I sign something that these sleep apnea doctors from other countries could watch because they were not licence in the United State so they could observe. This doctor did 3 scopes on me...the frist two he aaid he has only seen 2 people where the airway is blocked by the tongue so much...then the doctor did a scope on me under anesthesia to see how my airway would look as if i am asleep. He look so suprised afterwards and said you have multible obstructions way more than a sleep test would show....he emailed me and said it is not the tongue but your small airway.
4) This dual certified doctor who is a consultant for the largest CPAP company in the worle the CPAP would never work for you. He said sleep studies etc are just numbers it is how you feel. This doctor todl me 3 times the CPAP will never work for me..but he wants to cut out the back of the tongue...which other doctors say no to big time. To new and too many possible problems. He does not want me to do MMA, maybe because he does not do MMA...He says cutting out that back of the tongue the way he does it is safer...but other doctors say MMA is safer...I thing a little advancement and a litle tongue surgery is safer.
Gelieve me i have seen about 60 doctor (a lot were at the Mayo Clinic..i was there 20 days) and they cant figure any reason for my tiredness.
so it strongly believe the extreme tiredness in not from anything that can be proved anyhow..and what other have said (some had said even that the CPAP help themb with there tiredness somewhat(no luck for me) for example this guy who is 62 told me after MMA he felt like 19 again and he said he would do it again in a heart beat. Each speciality seems to just think in what they do sleep doctors just seem to think if cpap is not working with your tiredess then it is somethinhg else but nothing else can be proved.
But I went to Mayo for 2O days and they could find no reason for my extreme tiredness where i can not even work.
Some of the 6 sleep doctor i saw said the cpap is the only way to go..even though they must of saw the high leak...and did not say anything..i learned by my self i had a mouth leak....but chin straps and full face masks did not work.
Sleep doctors have told me MMA one said stanford says 95 percent success but they have only seen one and they have been a sleep doctor for over 2o years and is head of the department.
These sleep doctors keep on coming up with other wrong reason for my tirednes and when i go to doctors in those specialities they say i dont have that.
I am at the end of my rope....all these opinions and...i have lost my girl friend my frieds and my family because of my tiredness.
