Yes...

As for numbness...some areas can come back as late as 12-18 months. After that, what's done is done. I have permanent areas of subtle deep tissue numbness above my chin and under my lower lip. I think these are related to the GA portion of my surgery. I feel everything at the superficial skin level, but the deep areas feel "woody".

I think that areas of numbness , and permanent patches of altered peripheral nerve sensory conduction are present much more than is commonly stated. I heard 15% percent when I was looking into the MMA. I think that number is much, much higher.

Post-op apneas...and obstructive episodes...I no longer have these. Though (as stated in another thread), when I have a heavy carb intake at night...I still have mild snoring. And, while fixing my OSA, the MMA/GA is no panacea for other forms of sleep disturbances (ie...stress or situational insomnia, etc...).

I'm distressed to hear about your "pharyngeal" issues. And, I'm curious as to what KL will recommend. His version of a pharyngealplasty is more of a nip-tuck than a UPPP. Kind of like adding a dart or a pleat to a jacket.

It is interesting to poll all of our fellow MMA vets who have NOT had a UPPP to see if they have had any similar issues.

Best wishes to you as always,

Bill
