I always have been a bit of an anxious person but for the most part was very optimistic and relaxed going into my MMA surgery. My ICU experience was rather traumatic and I had BP of 180/120 heart rate of 220 while in there at one point and had to be sedated. For my whole hospital stay my blood pressure and heart rate were high and slowly came down. Since the surgery I have had major anxiety and taking my blood pressure today notice it was running about 133/107 hr 108 at a stressed moment in the grocery store. I had to be readmitted to the hospital for pain and once again my blood pressure was up. I have mostly discomfort and not a lot of pain.
Most of the literature I find shows that post surgery the anxiety decreases so what is going on? Anyone had or heard of anything like this? I have problems falling asleep and Im wondering if the trauma of the hospital. Im looking to either go on blood pressure meds (I am 36) or at least seek counseling.
But when Im panicking, at least now I get a lot of air (dum dum dum)
thanks
