Hello and welcome to the group.

If you've had all the normal soft-tissue surgeries (can't tell if your 'soft-palate shaved'=UP3 or not), and CPAP is not cutting it for you, you should probably 'consider' MMA. But first you need a study to see what the numbers are, with and without CPAP.

It doesn't take 1 year to become fully active. I was functional within 8 weeks. And it didn't stop me from doing much at that point. In fact, I remodeled a bathroom a few months after my surgery. Before 8 weeks, I did not have my normal level of endurance. It does seem that some healing is still taking place at 1 year. For me it was jaw movement and jaw muscle tone and lip sensation changing.

I would advise against trying to talk constantly right after surgery, you really need 6-8 weeks before doing all that. How about TYPING on the internet? :)

The surgeon could probably give you an accurate assessment of what your profile will be after MMA accounting for your existing strong jawline. Some of them do a computer model. It was not a factor for me - I'll take Neanderthal over miserable any day :)
