I had my MMA 5 weeks ago with Dr KL for UARS. I had no or
VERY few apneas but an RDI of like 33 w/o cpap and lots of
hypopneas. Though I havent had a study since and am dealing
with post surgery discomfort and fatigue I am 99% certain I am
"cured". I used to be able to collapse my tongue in my throat
when relaxed lying down and often would wake up gagging on it
and unable to breathe at night. Now I sleep deeply and no more
convulsions, snoring or gasping for air at night. There are risks
and there is a price to pay but I think UARS is a highly treatable
varian of OSA that MMA responds well too. I think it pays to ask
lots of questions and do a lot of research on your own.
