Posted by bobmisteer on July 07, 2008 at 12:43:50:Today is one year since my MMA surgery. So many things has happened since then.
My sleep apnea index went from 40 to 10. I had no apneas in
my sleep study only a few hypopneas (hope I spelled it right). My doctor told me that he considers My MMA a success.
Now for the bad stuff: My upper and lower teeth are still numb, so are my upper and lower lip and part of my nose. It feels very weird. My surgeons told me that there is a good chance the feeling might never come back. Well that really bothers me since they did not tell me that before the surgery . I guess that is something that I have to get used to. Well I was not able to go see the surgeons that I wanted so I wonder if they would have done a better job in perserving the nerve.
I still have a deviated septum that was caused by my MMA.
I will have to take care of it sometimes in the future.
Right now I am staying away from doctors!!
My bite is a bit off, not having feeling in my teeth just
makes it worse. I have a bit of clicking in my left jaw.
Eating solid food is still a bit difficult, sometimes My
jaw gets tired and starts to hurt.
I don't sleep that good at night, but I can still tell that I am less tired in the morning. When I wake up in the morning, I am a bit tired but after an hour or so and a cup of coffee I am ok. It is not like before where I was tired all the time. My memory is a lot better now too.
Well that is pretty much it, I guess it is time for me to go update my blog :)
