Michael,

I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma...that is garbage and I
definitely feel for you. You have every right to rant.

When I had surgery, I was covered by Aetna and it was quite
good. Having said that, I was still under Cobra coverage and
when I went to reapply at Aetna, BCBS and others I was denied
coverage b/c of my history of sleep apnea, even though it had
been corrected. Luckily, however, I live in Illinois and they have
an insurance plan through the state underwritten by BCBS which
is quite good, actually. I might look for programs like that
where you live.

I would also talk to your doc--sometimes they have a good way
with insurance folks.

Worst case scenario, if you did have to wait until 2009, does
your current plan cover/are you on CPAP? I know it's not the fix
your looking for but it certainly can help.

Best of luck; I hope you get the coverage asap.

-Jeff
