I haven't used one myself, but many of the posters here have used them. The feeling I get is that relatively few see success without accompanying problems (TMJ etc.).

It seems like dental devices can be a good way to let someone experience some airway widening - sort of as a precursor to surgery like MMA+GA.

My issue with the devices is that, as far as I can see, they intentionally shift jaws out of orthodontic alignment - doing harm to one system in order to cure another. I just don't see that as being anything but a stopgap solution.
