I have the surgery at Stanford by Dr. KL. I was under my husband's insurance. Dr. KL's office had helped us a great deal with the insurance company and they worked with them to have a negotiated amount. Dr. KL made some adjustments on his fees. You should ask your surgeon and see if he/she is able to do that. It is hard to have to worry about insurance when you are already stressed about surgery. Good luck with everything.
