Wow, i justed checked the forum today for the first time in months and saw this! I am Gremlin with the horrible nasal result. I have a million questions for you and you are welcome to email me. How nasal do you think you are? Can you control it by "forcing something" in your throat? This is how I speak , and it is known to speech therapist as a COMPENSATORY VOICE, which is like singing in falsetto, in essence , a forced speech. I too cannot control the voice at all when talking loud. My timber/resonance is like that of an adolescent...I relly miss my once brassy distinguished voice. But it is the nasality that is most bothersome. I noticed it immediately post op, along with liquids coming out of nose when swallowing, (dysphagia). Im afraid to say, but it did get worse with me, about 1.8 years post op. It did stabilize. Try this... If you pronounce "kitty cat" and the hard sounds try to escape thru your nose, then that is incompetent pharyngeal sealing. When I speak, it is like I have to immitate Gilber Gottfried or the words smear out of control and snort out of my nose. So in your case it could be one or two things, incompetent pharyngeal sealing, and/or a changing of resonance due to a different facial structure. I hope not to scare you, I am sure it is not to the extent of my result. I have tried to find otherw with a nasal result and it must be super rare. I really will probably never know why it occured in me. Hang in.
