Your situation is much as my own.

I have brain stem damage with central apnea along with other problems.

The only thing which returned me from the near dead is a trach with O2 set an 2 during sleep.

This was 15 years ago and today I am able to accomplish many things which the docs said would never happen.

I wish you well, keep looking for the right avenue of treatment for your recovery and do not give up.
