I am 2.75 months post op and have had some odd sleep results, but they are promising. I am trying to get as much excercise as I can and cut out caffeine and alcohol completely. Some days after 8 hours sleep I wake up ok. I dont start nodding off or falling asleep but then within an hour I just feel tired. It lasts on and off most of the morning in waves of feeling good to feeling very tired.
I guess what the weird thing for me is that it comes in waves during the day of feeling good and feeling tired and not just limited to the afternoons. I am losing more weight and I am in good spirits but the unpredictability has been annoying. Not anything near as bad as pre op, but I am wondering how long it really takes to stabilize sleep architecture. I eat more protein at lunch to avoid carbs and a crash in afternoon. I still just feel like I need a nap, but whenever I try and get one, IM not tired enough to fall asleep.
Perhaps stress and anxiety are the culprits. My apnea is definitely gone and other OSA related problems at least!!
