AHR,

I had the same things you are having done as well as the rest of the UPPP treatment. I didn't use the CPAP after the surgery, but I'll take a guess based on my experience.

When I had my deviated septum fixed, they put plastic splints in both of my nostrils to hold the cartilage straight for two weeks. If I would have tried to use my Swift mask, I think it would not have worked. The splints would have prevented any seal from occurring. The ENT might not want that much pressure put on your nose, either. I would ask him/her. It may be a good idea to come up with a Plan B with a full face mask because that may not put as much pressure on your nose.

You may be able to use your mask just fine, but I am pretty sure I would have had a real problem with it.
